1. Fivio Foreign, who grew up in East Flatbush, appears to be moving towards the mainstream rap world. While he says he's 'steering clear' of his old life in Brooklyn, his drill song's (a genre Mayor Adams previously called on being banned) lyrics are still heavily focused on gang warfare and life in his old neighborhood. 2. Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg is teaming up with Adams to secure $50 million in funding for the city's charter schools to host summer school programs. The "Summer Boost" fund will complement the already existing Summer Rising program open to all public and charter students. (New York City Patch)
3. In his first in-person press conference since leaving COVID isolation, Mayor Adams confirmed he is indeed considering adding metal detectors, similar to the ones you might find at Lincoln Center or a museum, to the city's subway system. (Gothamist)
