A novelist, a lighting designer and a judge are tasked with inspiring 4,200 grads at Brooklyn College's three 2016 commencement ceremonies.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Thousands of graduates from Brooklyn College will receive their master's and bachelor's degrees over three separate ceremonies on campus this week.
Tickets for the Wednesday and Thursday ceremonies are no longer available. However, the college is broadcasting them all online. (Live streams included below.)

Wednesday, June 1: Master's Ceremony No. 1
- Time: 1:45 p.m.
- Venue: Walt Whitman Theater in the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, located on the east end of campus, near Nostrand Avenue and Avenue H
- Keynote speaker: Paul Beatty, ’89, an educator, satirist and winner of the National Book Critics Circle award

Wednesday, June 1: Master’s Ceremony No. 2
- Time: 6:45 p.m.
- Venue: Walt Whitman Theater in the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, located on the east end of campus, near Nostrand Avenue and Avenue H
- Keynote speaker: Howard Brandston, noted lighting designer and recipient of an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts

Thursday, June 2: Bachelor's Ceremony
- Time: 9:30 a.m.
- Venue: The East Quad, located between Boylan Hall and Ingersoll Hall at the center of campus
- Keynote speaker: Chief Justice Deborah Poritz, ’58, who has had a distinguished career in public service as an attorney and a jurist
