  1. A man punched an MTA train conductor on March 19 at the Church Avenue F station, police announced on Friday. The incident occurred after the conductor had confronted the straphanger about his behavior, also causing him to draw a weapon. The MTA worker was treated for injuries. (WPIX 11 New York)
  2. Deputy Inspector Bruce Ceparano of the NYPD is leaving his post in Staten Island's 121st Precinct to become the commanding officer of the 70th precinct in Flatbush. Ceparano has 18 years of experience in the force, and was described by NYPD Brooklyn South on Twitter as a "proven leader." (SILive.com)
  3. Independent bookstores across Brooklyn are teaming up to hold a borough-wide "book crawl" on April 30 in celebration of independent Bookstore Day. Among those participating is Greenlight Bookstore in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
