  1. An East Flatbush man was found dead in his apartment on Schenectady Avenue Thursday morning, according to police. The NYPD believes it was a homicide, with murders being up 200% in the area, although they don't have further details to share yet. (Brooklyn Paper)

The residents of a Flatbush building with a 'notorious' landlord would like to purchase their building through the Tenant Opportunity To Purchase Act (TOPA), supported by State Senator Zellnor Myrie. Their landlord, Margaret Streicker, who acquired the property eight years ago, has over 200 open building violations. (Patch)
  3. Brooklyn elected officials are excited by the appointment of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. After her confirmation, Assemblywoman and Democratic Party leader Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn said: "she is sure to not only be a force on the bench, but to be an inspiration to young Black women who at long last see a reflection of themselves on the nation's highest court."
