Here are the top three stories in Ditmas Park-Flatbush today:

  1. A Flatbush deli owner was attacked by a customer who refused to pay, in what may have been an Anti-Asian hate crime. The same deli saw its front windows smashed open only two months ago. Community members that frequent the deli offered support to the owners. (CBS New York)
  2. A 14-year-old teenager was shot in the leg inside Kings Plaza Mall at 2:30 p.m. Multiple teenagers were arrested in connection to the incident. (Brooklyn Paper)
  3. Redistricting is underway in New York State. Nothing too big is changing for Flatbush's congressional seat. The neighborhood will still be represented by Yvette Clarke, but a district to the west now extends from progressive Park Slope to conservative Staten Island, in what looks like an attempt to flip the seat Democratic.
