Flatbush Man Shot Dead Answering Door

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A Flatbush man was shot dead this week when he answered to door to his home on Lott Street near Albemarle Road.

Tyler Alphonso, 20, was at his home late Tuesday night and answered the door, police said. The man standing in the doorway shot him a single time in the chest and fled in a black sedan, police said.

Alphonso was taken to Kings County Hospital and pronounced dead, police said.

Police have not arrested or named a suspect in the case. An investigation is ongoing.
