- Former Brooklyn Councilmember Alicka Ampry-Samuel was named the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administrator for NY and NJ by President Biden. In her new position she will be in charge of homeless assistance, managing Section 8 vouchers, and more. Prior to sitting on the city council Amply-Samuel served at a high-up position for NYCHA. - A large Canada goose and teenage swan were released back into the Prospect Park lake after getting their feet tangled in fishing wires.
