- Authorities identified a man from Flatlands, Jose Flores, 30, who was shot on Sunday outside of Tapscott Rehab Houses in Brownsville. The NYPD says Flores was driving a car when he was surrounded by men who began arguing with him, after which time he was shot dead. (AMNY)
- Two men carried out an assault and robbery at Schnapps Wine and Liquor on Avenue M on Sunday afternoon, injuring the store's owner. (Brooklyn Reader)
- Nick Perry, who represented Crown Heights and Flatbush in the State Assembly for the past 30 years, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to become ambassador to Jamaica Thursday, making him officially the first Jamaican immigrant U.S. ambassador to Jamaica. (Caribbean Life)
