Grab an IDNYC Card at Brooklyn College This November
The school will host a mobile sign-up location for the free municipal ID from Nov. 2 through Nov. 18.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Brooklyn College will host a mobile IDNYC application center starting on Nov. 2 and running through Nov. 18.
The center, located in the John White Room at 2705 Campus Rd., will operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
An IDNYC card, which is free, can be used as a primary form of photo identification for any city resident 14 and older, regardless of immigration status.

It also comes with a host of benefits, including free memberships to numerous city cultural institutions and 15 percent off your first year's membership with Citi Bike. A dozen credit unions also accept it as a form of ID from those looking to open a bank account.
In order to apply, you should first book an appointment time on the IDNYC website. You'll also have to bring several documents proving your identity. Acceptable documentation includes a driver's license, a recent cable or utility bill, an insurance bill, or a letter from the New York City Housing Authority, among many other documents. At the end of June, a study done by the city reported that 863,464 residents speaking more than 150 languages had applied for an IDNYC card.
