'John Doe Duffle Bag' Charged With Shopkeepers' Murders

Salvatore Parrone, 63, has been charged in all three murders, including the killing of Flatbush Avenue's She She Boutique owner Rahmatollah Vahidipour, 78.

 

A Staten Island man suspected in the killings of three Brooklyn store owners has been charged in all three murders after confessing to two of them, the Daily News reports

Salvatore Parrone, a garment salesman who turns 64 on Thanksgiving and was dubbed "John Doe Duffle Bag," voluntarily went to the 68th Precinct stationhouse to be questioned, and was then moved to the 67th Precinct stationhouse to continue the interview.

During the more than 24-hour interview, Perrone confessed to the murders of Mohammed Gebeli, 65, in Bay Ridge and Isaac Kadare, 59, in Bensonhurst, the Daily News reported. He was also charged in the Nov. 16 murder of Flatbush Avenue She-She Boutique owner Rahmatollah Vahidipour, 78. 

Ballistic evidence from two scenes where Brooklyn store owners were murdered matched to a .22-caliber rifle discovered in Parrone's girlfriend's Midwood apartment Tuesday, NBC News reported.

The gun was found in a duffel bag along with ammunition for the firearm and three knives, including a kitchen knife that appeared to have blood on it and two Buck knives. 

Parrone, who was seen on surveillance video near the scene of Vahidipour, was also linked to a video in recovered at the time of an earlier homicide. He has several prior arrests, including for stalking and burglary.
