1. Kevin Parker will see another progressive opponent in June's Democratic primary for State Senate in Flatbush. Kaegan Mays-Williams, who had previously been running in a Borough Park district, announced she's entering the race to represent Ditmas Park and Flatbush after redistricting. She has $100,000 cash on hand. Parker will also be challenged by DSA-backed David Alexis. (http://hamodia.com)
2. Sip unWine is a Black-owned wine bar and restaurant in Flatbush, that offers pan-Caribbean food from across the region. It's become a favorite in the neighborhood, notable for its performances and signature Irie Mac & Cheese. (Travel Noire)
3. Brooklyn radio superstar Angela Yee, famous for her nationally aired program “The Breakfast Club,” is teaming up with East Flatbush radio personality LaRon Batchelor to open a coffee shop in Bed-Stuy. Their goal is to bring high-quality coffee and café vibes to low-income communities for whom those amenities are often out of reach. (New York Daily News)
