Man Stabbed To Death In Brooklyn Neighborhood, Police Say

BROOKLYN, NY — A man was found stabbed to death following an encounter with an apparent stranger on a residential street in Brooklyn during the early hours of Wednesday, police said.

Shortly after 8 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at the intersection of Avenue K and East 53rd Street. There, they found a 45-year-old man who had been slashed multiple times in the head and abdomen.

Medics rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition, where he was subsequently pronounced dead by medical staff, police said.

There have been no arrests at this time, and an investigation remains ongoing, police said.

The victim's name is being withheld pending family notification, an NYPD spokesperson said.
