- Flatbush is one of 33 neighborhoods that will see an investment in maternal healthcare, specifically aimed at Black women. The city is expanding its doula program, by training at least 50 new doulas, who provide physical and emotional support during and after pregnancy. Black women are nine times more likely to die in connection to pregnancy, in comparison to white women. (New York City Patch)
- Professors at Brooklyn College discussed on Monday Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine, which they said they think could go on much longer. Many staff, faculty, and students have direct ties to the region. (Brooklyn Reader)
- Attorney General Letitia James and The Brooklyn Community Foundation together delivered over $2 million in grants to 10 Brooklyn nonprofits doing work in substance abuse treatment and harm reduction programs for drug users. The funds went to several nonprofits working in Flatbush, including After Hours Project and Community Counseling & Mediation. (New York State Attorney General)
