NYPD Officer Struck By Driver While Directing Traffic In Brooklyn, Police Say

BROOKLYN, NY — An NYPD officer was hit by a hit-and-run driver while directing traffic on a Brooklyn street Sunday evening, authorities confirmed.

Police say the officer was directing traffic near Schenectady and Church Avenues in East Flatbush just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday when he was hit by a black sedan with an orange license plate.

The driver sped off and is still at large, authorities said.

The officer, whose name has not been disclosed, was rushed to Kings County Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities said they are actively searching for the driver, and no arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.
