  1. Otis Danne Jr., a candidate for the 58th Assembly District in East Flatbush, Canarsie, Flatbush, and Brownsville. A member of the 67th and 69th Precinct Clergy Councils, Danne considers himself a political newcomer, entering the race without any major endorsements. He's a proponent of term limits for the assembly, which currently has none. Hercules Reid is another candidate in the race. (Canarsie Courier)
  2. Suzette Lewin, the mother of 12-year-old Kade Lewin who was killed last weekend in East Flatbush, asked for justice at an emotional press conference, while holding up a picture of her smiling son. (Subscription: The New York Times)
  3. Brooklyn saw more construction-related violations issued than any other borough last year, according to a newly released report. The 26,255 violations and 4,061 stop work orders included a worker who fell 60 feet to his death during the demolition of the Flatbush Savings Bank. (Brooklyn Paper)
