Shooting Near Prospect Park: Man Arrested, Charged

The Friday morning shooting left one dead and another injured.

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — A man has been arrested and charged for his role in an early Friday morning shooting near Prospect Park that left one man dead and another man injured, police said.

Damani Thomas, a 29-year-old resident of Marine Park, Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, the NYPD said.

A second suspect remains at large.

Authorities said they were looking for two people, pictured above, in connection with the killing, which happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning.

Three people were sitting in a car near Parksive Avenue and Parade Place, when two men on bicycles rode up and opened fire, according to police.

The shots struck two of the people in the car, killing the driver, police said. The other victim is in stable condition.
