Staten Island Man Indicted on Shopkeep Murders

Salvatore Perrone, 64, was charged with six counts of murder.

 

A grand jury Monday indicted alleged serial killer Salvatore Perrone, 64,in the murders of three Brooklyn shop keepers. 

Staten Island-based Perrone was with charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

Dubbed "John Doe Duffle Man" when his image was captured on video surveillance cameras near the time and place of the murders, Perrone allegedly shot and killed three clothing store owners with the same gun in three separate incidents since July 6. 

The three victims, Mohammed Gebeli, 65, Isaac Kadare, 59, and Rahmatollah Vahidipour, 78, owned the clothing stores where they were killed. Ballistic reports conclude the same .22-caliber semi-automatic rifle was used to kill the three men.
