WATCH: Workers Rescued After Hanging From Tribeca Skyscraper
Emergency workers pulled two glaziers off a scaffold that got twisted in the wind Friday morning, police said.
TRIBECA, NY — Emergency workers rescued two glaziers who got stuck in a scaffold hanging from a Tribeca skyscraper Friday morning, the NYPD said. The men got trapped between the 45th and 46th floors of 111 Murray St. after the wind turned their scaffold perpendicular to the building, breaking several windows, police said.
The accident was reported to 911 around 8:18 a.m. Police video shows first-responders bringing the men, ages 36 and 44, off the scaffold and into the building through the windows. Exterior construction on the luxury condo development was just finished earlier this year.
The glaziers refused medical attention at the scene, as did a pedestrian who was hit by falling glass, police said.
