Blaze Shutters The Dead Rabbit 'Until Further Notice'
The Irish pub topped "The World's 50 Best Bars" list in 2016.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The popular bar The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog announced it is shutting down indefinitely after a two-alarm fire ripped through the building Sunday morning, the bar's management posted on social media.
The blaze broke out inside the 30 Water Street cocktail bar at 7:30 a.m. and swept through the kitchen and duct work. Firefighters rushed to scene and arrived four minutes later, but could not get the fierce fire under control until 10 a.m., said an FDNY spokesman.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire. One firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital after suffering minor injuries from the blaze.
