Fire in Continental Bank Building on Broad Street Injures 3 People
The FDNY says a fire in a machine room at 30 Broad Street on Tuesday morning seriously injured one worker.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A fire in a machine room on the 12th floor of the Continental Bank Building has injured three people, one seriously, according to the FDNY.
The fire broke out just after 10 a.m. in the 46-story building, which is located right next to the New York Stock Exchange. Twenty-six units and 84 firefighters were dispatched to the building, a fire official said.
Three people working in the machine room were injured, including one who suffered serious burns, the FDNY said. The person with serious burns was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, the other two were transported to area hospitals for minor injuries.

The building has sprinkler systems which knocked down the fire, but the FDNY said there was still a heavy smoke condition on the 12th floor. The fire was reported under control a little before noon.
According to people in the building, they were evacuated due to the fire.
