Cab Fire Shutters Hugh L. Carey Tunnel: FDNY
A yellow cab erupted into flames on the Brooklyn-bound side of the tunnel Wednesday afternoon, FDNY said.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A yellow cab burst into flames in the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, shuttering its Brooklyn-bound lanes Wednesday afternoon, FDNY said.
Firefighters rushed to the scene at 12:13 p.m. and have since extinguished the blaze. No injuries have been reported, an FDNY spokesman said.
Video taken by a woman driving through the tunnel shows the taxi stalled with flames engulfing the car. Plumes of smoke cloud the passage, the video shows.
