FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A 29-year-old man was injured on Thursday afternoon when another person slashed his arm during a dispute on a subway platform, police said.

An NYPD spokeswoman told Patch that the 29-year-old was trying to intervene in an argument between other people on the A and C train platform in the Fulton Street station. When the man tried to break up the fight at about 2:15 p.m., another man slashed him across the arm, police said. The injured 29-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and is expected to survive his wounds, according to authorities.

The man suspected in the attack fled the station immediately after, the NYPD said. No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate. (For more news from the Financial District, subscribe here for breaking news and updates from Patch.)
