Fumes Sicken 13 At Lower Manhattan Municipal Building: FDNY
An exterminator who was fumigating part of the building for pests sickened more than a dozen people Thursday, FDNY said.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — An exterminator fumigating a Lower Manhattan municipal building sickened at least 13 people Thursday morning, FDNY said.
More than a dozen were forced to flee the building just after 11 a.m. after fumes wafting from the second floor of The David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building at 1 Centre Street nauseated New Yorkers and caused them to have "adverse reactions," said a FDNY spokesman.
The building houses a slew of city agencies and officials including the offices of the Manhattan Borough President, the Public Advocate and the Comptroller. It is across the street from City Hall and down the road from Manhattan Supreme Court.
