Jersey City Ferry Route Opens

The ferry says it can get you from Jersey City to Downtown Manhattan in just six minutes.

TRIBECA, NY — A new Jersey City ferry can get you from New Jersey to downtown Manhattan in just six minutes.

The new ferry route, launched by the NY Waterway company, debuted on Monday, and provides speedy, above-water transport from Jersey City to Battery Park City and to Midtown Manhattan.

For commuters traveling to Battery Park City, the six-minute trip will cost you $6 for a one-way adult ticket. The Battery Park City stop lets off near Brookfield Place. Trips to and from downtown Manhattan leave every 15 minutes during weekday rush hours.

Travelers going to Midtown will have an eight-minute journey from Jersey City to the 39th Street drop-off point. A one-way adult ticket costs $8. Trips to and from Midtown leave every 30 minutes during weekday rush hours.
