Man Arrested For Pushing Stranger Into Subway Tracks: NYPD

20-year-old Jakim Jeter was charged with attempted murder in the second degree, police said.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Police arrested the maniac suspected of shoving a stranger onto the train tracks of the Brooklyn Bridge station, police said.

Jakim Jeter, 20, was arrested early Thursday morning near his home in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx after after someone called in a tip through the Crime Stoppers hotline, a police spokeswoman said.

Jeter is accused of pushing complete stranger Edwin Pinez, 55, onto the tracks of the northbound 6 train line at 7:45 a.m., police said.

He narrowly avoided being squashed by a train after a fellow subway rider dragged him onto the platform before the train sped into the station, authorities said.

Medic took Pinez to Lower Manhattan Hospital where he was treated for a cut on his lip and released.

Jeter was charged with attempted murder in the second degree and assault in the first degree.
