NYC Sends 100s Of Pounds Of Humanitarian Supplies To Ukraine: Mayor
The supplies — which includes hospital beds and ventilators — is on of a $2 million fund to help refugees who fled during the war.

NEW YORK, NY — Massive shipments of supplies are on their way to Ukraine from New York City, according to Mayor Eric Adams.
The mayor and the city's Emergency Management officials said this week that they will send another round of humanitarian supplies to Ukrainian citizens still embroiled in Russia's war in the country.
Around 150 pounds of supplies — including hospital beds, batteries and other essential items — had already touched down in Ukraine as of Thursday and another 72 pounds were on their way, Adams said. New York City has sent a total of 1.5 million items to help Ukraine since April.

"In the coming weeks we will be delivering enough to fill an entire football field," said the mayor.
The humanitarian donations to Ukrainians comes after New York City set up a $2 million fund for refugees and immigrants arriving in the Big Apple earlier this year.

Adams has said that 100,000 Ukrainians are expected to come to the United States, many of whom might settle in New York City, which already has a large population of Ukrainian immigrants.
The fund, an addition to the city's existing immigration resources, will help Ukrainians get access to immigration legal assistance, translation services, social services and other resources, Adams said.
"We see what is happening in Ukraine — we see the suffering and the pain," the mayor said Thursday. "The bombs that are dropped on the streets of Ukraine are felt here in the streets and neighborhood of New York City."
