NYC Unions To Rally Against Supreme Court Janus Labor Ruling
Activists are calling on New Yorkers to protest a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the Janus labor union case this evening at Foley Square.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Union activists are calling on New Yorkers to condemn the U.S. Supreme Court's Wednesday ruling that says workers who are represented by a union, but who choose not to join, do not have to pay dues to cover the costs of collective bargaining at a Lower Manhattan rally this evening.
This morning the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 against public sector unions in the Janus v. AFSCME case, which overturns a 40 year precedent, allowing nonunion members to enjoy the same benefits and protections won through collective bargaining for union workers.
In response, union organizers across the city are staging an emergency protest against the ruling in Foley Square this evening from 5-6 p.m., asking demonstrators to come clad in their union gear and speak out against the ruling.
