PATH Train Link Between NYC And Newark Airport Proposed
Port Authority is hosting public meetings on a proposal that would extended the PATH train to the Newark airport.

TRIBECA, NY — The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will host two town halls this week as it weighs a proposal that would extend a PATH train route to go all the way to the Newark airport in New Jersey.
Currently, PATH's Newark to World Trade Center Line stretches from the Newark Penn Station to the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. In 2014, Port Authority first proposed expanding the route so it could stretch all the way to the Newark Liberty International Airport.
Right now, air travelers going to the Newark airport via a PATH train must transfer to NJ Transit at Newark Penn Station. The PATH extension would provide a direct route from Lower Manhattan to the airport.

PATH is hosting two public meetings this week in Newark to solicit feedback on the plan, which would cost an estimated $1.7 billion. The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evening in Newark. You can find more information here.
The plan would require a new PATH station to be built near the airport.
