Police Search For Car Reported To Have Plunged Into East River
The NYPD's harbor unit and a helicopter are canvassing the area near South Street Seaport.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Police are searching for a car in the East River off of South Street Seaport after a boat captain reported it plunged into the water Wednesday morning, officials said.
The NYPD's harbor unit and a helicopter are canvassing the area near 6 East River Piers heliport after a 911 caller spotted a car in the waters off of the Financial District at 10:17 a.m., police said.
Police called off the search just after 11 a.m.
