Police Searching for Lower East Side Shooter

The police are seeking a man who shot another man in the leg on Saturday evening.

Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man who shot another man in the leg in the Lower East Side and a woman who was walking with the suspect at the time.

The shooting happened at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 near the corner of Pitt and Delancey streets. The victim was a 20-year-old man, shot in his right leg. He went to Bellevue Hospital and was treated and released.

The man who shot him was described by the NYPD as black, 5-foot-6, 145 pounds and was wearing a navy baseball hat, white and tan top and dark shorts. The woman with him was described as black, around 20 years old, and she was wearing a gray tank top, jeans and black sneakers and had a big tattoo on her stomach. She was last seen holding a bicycle, and they both fled east on Rivington Street.
