Police are searching for a man who they say grabbed a woman's iPhone right as the subway doors opened before running away.

TRIBECA, NY — Police are searching for a man who stole a teenager's cellphone from her hands as she was riding a southbound 6 train last month, authorities said.

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspected robber on Saturday and asked for the public's help in identifying and locating him. He is believed to be between 18 and 25 years old.

Police say that on Oct. 24, at about 11:15 p.m., the man was waiting on the platform at the Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall subway station. When a train pulled in and the doors opened, he grabbed an iPhone from a 19-year-old woman's hands and ran away.
