Thief Snatches iPhone From Manhattan Subway Rider, Police Say

Police say they are searching for a man who grabbed an iPhone from a 19-year-old woman as she rode the train last week.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A man grabbed a 19-year-old woman's iPhone from her hands last week as she was riding the subway in downtown Manhattan, police say.

The thief, who police haven't yet caught, was waiting on the subway platform at the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall subway station on Oct. 24 at about 11:15 p.m., authorities said. When a southbound 6 train pulled into the station, the man waited for the doors to open before grabbing the woman's iPhone from her hands and running from the station, according to the NYPD.

Police are currently searching for the man, who is believed to be between 18 and 25 years old, and are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating him.
