Car Crash Near West Side Highway Leaves 1 Dead: Officials
A man was charged with manslaughter.

TRIBECA, NY – A woman died in a Tribeca car crash that involved at least six vehicles and left one in flames, FDNY officials said.
Police charged a man they say crashed into a car driven by Amy Phillipson, 57, from Mill Basin. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver then careened away from the scene, hitting another four vehicles before he fled his car and tried to run away, police said.

Sherman Harrison, 37, from Maryland, was caught nearby and charged with manslaughter, police said.
The accident happened on West Street, near Laight Street, at 7:25 a.m. Saturday. Another three people were hurt in the crash, police said.
