The New Amsterdam branch will be getting extensive renovations, including a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system plus other interior renovations, the NYPL said in a statement. The branch first opened in 1989, and the upgrades will replace the space's aging cooling system.
Renovations will also include two new accessible bathrooms, new entry doors that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and a hearing loop for the branch's multi-purpose room, plus other cosmetic improvements.
