Here Are The 8 People Killed In The NYC Terror Attack
A Belgian mother of two and a 23-year-old Manhattanite were among those who lost their lives in the vicious ISIS-inspired attack

TRIBECA, NY — Tuesday's terror attack in Tribeca killed five Argentine citizens, a Belgian tourist, a Manhattan software engineer and a New Jersey man, according to family members and officials.
A group of friends from Argentina were among a number of pedestrians and cyclists who were mowed down on Tuesday afternoon by Sayfullo Saipov, who police sources say rented a truck and then deliberately drove it down a bike path near the West Side Highway before crashing it into a school bus.
The five friends killed were named as Hernán Diego Mendoza, Diego Enrique Angelini, Alejandro Damián Pagnucco, Ariel Erlij and Hernán Ferruchi by the Argentine foreign ministry.

The group, which included eight friends total, was celebrating the 30th anniversary of their graduation, according to a translation of a statement from the Argentine foreign ministry. The classmates, who original hailed from the city of Rosario, were traveling to the U.S. to visit a classmate who lived near Boston, the AP reported.
"Five of the victims were from Rosario — young entrepreneurs, members of the city’s society. I imagine they had beautiful families," Argentine President Mauricio Macri said Wednesday.
Argentine journalist Hernán Funes shared a photo of the group, who hailed from the city of Rosario, on Twitter:

A sixth victim was identified as Belgian citizen and mother of two Ann-Laure Decadt, her family confirmed to the media. Decadt, 31, died and three other Belgian citizens were injured in the attack, according to foreign officials. Decadt was biking with her mother and two sisters at the time of the attack.

The attack also killed Nicholas Cleves, 23, from Greenwich Village, and 32-year-old Darren Drake of New Milford, N.J.
Cleves graduated in 2012 from Elisabeth Irwin High School, a private prep school, and worked as a software engineer and analyst for the software firm Unified Digital Group, according to his LinkedIn page.
He was "a truly decent human being who was good to all and wanted to know everything," said Phil Kassen, director of the Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School, the Greenwich Village schools Cleves attended.
"He just exuded kindness," Kassen said.
Kassen said Cleves was interested in "all things technical" as a high schooler. He "knew a lot about how to make things work and always willing to try to puzzle through a knotty problem," Kassen said.
Cleves had been doing occasional IT work for his alma mater, known collectively as LREI, since his graduation from Skidmore College last year, Kassen said. He was last on the school's campus on Saturday.
"We'll really miss him," Kassen said. "He's been around a lot recently, and we're devastated."
Cleves also worked for CX Design, an artisan lighting design company his parents founded. His mother, Italian-born Monica Missio, lives in New York and is CX Design's creative director. His father, British-born Richard Cleves, died in 2013, according to an obituary.
Kassen spoke with a Cleves family friend Wednesday and plans to talk with his mother, who he understands to be "distraught."
Drake, a project manager for Moody's, was out for a bike ride when Saipov barreled down the bike path, his father, Jimmy Drake, told NJ.com, calling him a "perfect son."
FDNY Commissioner Dan Nigro said on Wednesday that six of the eight victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the attack. Two more were rushed to nearby hospitals before they were pronounced dead, he said.
At 11 people were injured in the attacks on Tuesday, but officials said that as of Tuesday evening none of their injuries were considered life threatening. Three people have already been released from the hospital Nigro said.
Of the 9 people remaining in the hospital, four have critical injuries but are stable, Nigro said. One person suffered a bilateral amputation, Nigro said, although he did not provide details on the victim.
An NYPD officer shot and injured Saipov after he left the truck while waving two non-lethal guns. Saipov remains in custody in the hospital.
Nicholas Cleves of Manhattan, 23, was one of the eight people killed in Tuesday's terrorist attack.
