Wall Street Gunfire: Parking Dispute Ends In Shots Fired, Dramatic FDR Arrest, Reports Say

WALL STREET, NY — At least one shot was fired during a dispute over a parking spot early Friday evening in Lower Manhattan, according to NBC New York. (To stay up to date on breaking news in your NYC neighborhood, sign up for Patch's email alerts.)

NBC reported that a man was arrested after he pulled out a gun — then fired it — while arguing with another man over a parking spot. The gunfire didn't hit anyone, according to the news station.

The shooter and his target had reportedly been fighting over a parking space outside a liquor store near the intersection of Wall and Pearl streets. A suspect was arrested shortly after on FDR Drive near the Manhattan Bridge, police told NBC.

An NYPD spokeswoman could not immediately confirm the reported gunfire or arrest to Patch.

Police activity clogged traffic along the FDR, where the alleged Wall Street shooter reportedly fled after firing his gun, during the Friday evening commute. At least one lane of the freeway was closed between Houston Street and East 14th Street as of around 6 p.m., causing a traffic jam that stretched all the way down to the Brooklyn Bridge, according to Total Traffic NYC.

Friday's reported gunfire follows a shooting near Battery Park on Monday that injured two people.
