Watch Live: Falcon Eggs Hatch In Financial District Nest
The falcon eggs have begun hatching outside the 14th floor of a Financial District skyscraper.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The newest residents of Water Street are on their way into the world.
The peregrine falcons who live on a Financial District high-rise started hatching last night, with at least one new chick already out of its shell. In total, bird watchers have spotted four eggs in the nest, meaning more tiny falcons should begin hatching soon.
The birds live outside the skyscraper at 55 Water St., where they've maintained a dedicated following thanks to the live web camera that sits outside their nest on the 14th floor of the 54-story building.

Peregrine falcons have been among the most consistent tenants of 55 Water Street. The birds have lived outside the building since 1999 when the first couple, named Jack and Diane, moved in. Since then, generations of birds have returned to the building.
