1. Officials search for dog after skier bitten in Dryden (fingerlakes1.com) — Health officials are asking Dryden residents to help identify a large black dog, possibly a Bernese Mountain Dog, that bit a skier Tuesday in Cornell-owned fields near Hanshaw and Freese roads. They need to locate and monitor the dog for 10 days to rule out rabies, so anyone who recognizes the description or was in that area is urged to contact authorities immediately.
   

2. Trumansburg Girls Basketball Off to Winning Start (tompkinsweekly.com) — Dryden girls basketball fans will see their team battling Trumansburg, Lansing, and powerhouse Whitney Point for the IAC North Large Division crown this winter. Trumansburg has opened 2–0 under new coach Tim Denmark, leaning on a tight seven-player roster and strong team chemistry. Their early success sets up a competitive divisional race that will directly involve Dryden.
   

3. Tompkins County Government Building Design Unveiled (tompkinsweekly.com) — Dryden residents are being asked for input on a new Tompkins County Center of Government in downtown Ithaca, with an online survey open through Dec. 31. The all-electric, $64 million building would consolidate most county departments and follows town hall meetings held in Dryden and other towns. Designers say community feedback has already shaped the preferred design.
   

4. Town-Gown Awards Honor Housing, Child Care Partnerships (tompkinsweekly.com) — Dryden is now an associate member of the Community Housing Development Fund, which just earned a Cornell Town-Gown Award for expanding affordable housing across Tompkins County. The ceremony also honored a countywide child care initiative that’s adding hundreds of new slots. Local leaders, including representatives from the Town of Dryden, were recognized for their roles in these housing and child care partnerships.
