Betsey Johnson's East Hampton Home For Sale

Famous fashion designer Betsey Johnson recently put her East Hampton home on the market for $1.75 million.

The quaint 2,900 square foot home built in 1986, listed by Sotheby’s International Reality, has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.

In addition, the 1.6 beautifully landscaped acres features “open space offering serenity and privacy from which to enjoy heated gunite pool which is surrounded by a large stone terrace,” according to the listing.

Johnson, 73, who purchased the home in 2000, has put several personal touches to the home throughout the years, including painting the dark ceiling beams and columns white, making the wood floors lighter and creating a more open floor plan for the living, dining and kitchen space, according to a Newsday report.

On the outside, Johnson leveled the ground to get rid of a hill the property was sitting on and planted boxwood, hydrangea, ferns, dogwoods, rhododendron and crape myrtle, according to Newsday.

She also installed a fist-shaped knocker on the front door that she took from a previous home she owned upstate and marked the door to the basement with her and her family’s height, Newsday reports.
