EAST HAMPTON, NY — A home built by a renowned architect in East Hampton is changing hands for the first time since it was built all the way back in 1931.
Listed at $29.95 million, and represented by Paul Brennan of Douglas Elliman, 32 Middle Lane in East Hampton has now closed, according to Douglas Elliman.
While the sellers' and buyers' identities are listed as only Dune Park LLC and 32 Middle Lane LLC, the home has sparked intrigue for years, designed by renowned architect Aymar Embury II, and kept in the same family since 1931.

Embury was a frequent collaborator of Robert Moses and many of his constructions are still found in New York City zoos, parks, playgrounds and swimming pools, Douglas Elliman noted.
The sale marks the second large-scale sale for Douglas Elliman on the East End: 7 Olde Towne Lane, repped by Erica Grossman and Michaela Keszler + Harald Grant of Sotheby's and Tim Davis and Gary DePersia of Corcoran in Southampton, sold for $29.9 million earlier this year.
