The former East Deck Motel and Resort was recently put up for sale for $25 million by Sotheby’s International Realty.

According to the listing, the property is set on five acres with 360 feet of Atlantic ocean frontage overlooking the legendary surf break of Ditch Plains.

Currently, the interior space is 10,544 sqaure feet and includes 30 single-story motel-style rental units, a coffee shop, extensive decking, a playground, ample parking, a garage plus an olympic-sized oceanside swimming pool, along with direct access to a bluff crest and the Ditch Plains beach.

The building was designed by architect David Adjaye and an updated zoning analysis are available for review, according to the listing.

“This unique oceanfront offering has a wide range of potential uses - from a Boutique Motel which it has been for decades, to other residential and commercial opportunities,” the listing reads. “This is one of the last remaining large oceanfront parcels on the East End and one of the few commercial oceanfront offerings anywhere.“

The motel was sold in 2013 to ED40, a limited liability corporation for $14.75 million, according to The East Hampton Star.

Rylan Jacka, the associate broker for the property who shares the listing with Edward A. Bruehl, told The East Hampton Star that since the listing went live on Saturday, he has five inquiries for the motel including and has received messages from “all the boutique hotel people” from New York City, in addition to brokers from the city.
