NBA Star Renting $65,000 A Month Home In The Hamptons

Jason "Jay" Williams will be spending August in East Hampton.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - It will be a lot sportier in the Hamptons when Jason “Jay” Williams, the former point guard for the Chicago Bulls, comes to spend the month of August in East Hampton. Williams is renting a mid-century modern five-bedroom/five-bathroom home in the Northwest Woods section of town from August 1 through Labor Day, according to curbedhamptons.com.

While there doesn’t seem to be a basketball court on the property, Williams can work out by swimming in his own private 16 x 44-foot pool — or walking a few steps to the nearby bay beach. Or he can jog to any of the ocean beaches in East Hampton because they are just a few miles away.

The gleaming white 3450 square-foot main house comes with a soaking tub in the expansive master suite, a home theater, and a beautifully landscaped outdoor oasis.

Earlier this year Williams’ autobiography, Life Is Not an Accident: A Memoir of Reinvention (available on Amazon) was published. In it Williams shares the inspiring story of how he ultimately became an ESPN college basketball analyst after retiring from playing professional basketball in 2006 due to lingering effects of injuries from a 2003 motorcycle accident.

Christopher Covert and Sarah Minardi of Saunders handled the listing.
