Site Of Jackie Kennedy's Former Riding Academy On Market
Not only did Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis once board her horse Buttercup there, but the parcel was also the former Stern's Department Store.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — If you're still depressed that you missed the chance to buy Jackie Kennedy's childhood home Lasata, here's another property that has ties to the beloved former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, nee Bouvier.
And, for shopping mavens, it's also the former home of Stern's Department Store.
The $4.995 million land, located at 350 Pantigo Lane in East Hampton, is the spot where young Jackie rode and boarded her beloved horse, Buttercup, when it was once the East Hampton Riding Academy, according to Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Noted on the Department Store Museum website, the land has also been claimed, then shuttered, by Macy’s, leased by A&P but never developed, thanks to a superstore ban in East Hampton, and also run as a locally owned and operated Gertz store, Douglas Elliman in a release.
The property is represented by Benjamin Dixon and Matthew Mackay of Douglas Elliman.

The parcel is zoned A Residential, with potential opportunities including the possibility of placing a single estate with a pool and tennis court, a four-home subdivision, a few dozen affordable housing units, or limited light business use, on the site, Douglas Elliman said.
According to the listing, "This is an exceptional opportunity for you to own one of the last subdivided estate parcels within close proximity to ocean and to both Amagansett and East Hampton village."
