Stella McCartney Buys Waterfront Home In Hamptons

The designer daughter of Paul McCartney is moving to the same Hamptons hamlet where her Beatle dad owns a home.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Stella McCartney is moving back to her summertime roots. When she was a child, she and her family spent summers in the Hamptons, visiting her mother Linda McCartney’s relatives in East Hampton.

Her father, Paul McCartney, has a home in Amagansett within walking distance of Main Street, but his daughter, according to the New York Post, is upgrading to a waterfront three-bedroom house which she bought for $1.5 million. The home was listed for $1.7 million with Douglas Elliman brokers Diane and Dawn Neway

The view and the location right off of Napeague Bay is spectacular, but the home, with only three bedrooms, may be a bit small for the family’s four children. Luxury Listings suggested that McCartney and her husband, Alasdhair Willis, could be tearing down the existing home or renovating it for more space.

Not only do McCartney and Willis have her father and stepmother, Nancy, living nearby, McCartney’s good friend Gwyneth Paltrow also lives in town. Last year they were spotted shopping in East Hampton with their daughters and in 2013, Paltrow threw McCartney a garden party there to celebrate their Stella x goop collaboration.

McCartney should feel right at home — the Hamptons has always been a mecca for fashion designers. Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tory Birch, Donna Karan, Cynthia Rowley and Nicole Miller all have homes there.
