'Aggressive' LI Hospital Patient Bites Officer In Leg: Police

The man faces a count of second-degree assault, police said.

EAST MEADOW, NY — A patient at Nassau University Medical University got aggressive with hospital workers on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Police were called as the 21-year-old patient got belligerent while being admitted to the hospital.

As police attempted to subdue the patient he bit an officer on the leg. He was arrested without further incident, police said.

The officer was evaluated and treated for his injuries.

The man is charged with second-degree assault. He will be arraigned when it is medically practical.
