EAST MEADOW, NY — Police arrested a man over the weekend who they said tried to hide drugs and was in possession of a defaced, loaded pistol in East Meadow, and was wanted in two gunpoint robberies last year.

Around 9 p.m. Sunday, detectives saw a gray, 2011 Acura MDX leaving the Coliseum Motor Inn on Hempstead Turnpike. The SUV committed a vehicle and traffic law infraction, Nassau County police said.

The driver, identified as Kyle Williams, pulled into a Sonic drive-thru parking lot, and tried to conceal a white powdery substance in his pocket that officers believed was cocaine, police said. He was taken into police custody without incident.
