• Central Islip federal judge demands answers on Long Island ICE detainee's treatment (newsday.com) — A federal judge is scrutinizing how immigration authorities handled a detainee who was held for about 77 hours at the Nassau County jail in East Meadow, beyond the county’s 72-hour agreement with ICE. The judge is demanding explanations for allegedly inhumane conditions and conflicting records about the man’s transfers between Central Islip, East Meadow, and a New Jersey facility, and may consider contempt sanctions.
