Brush Fire Caused Delays On Northern State Parkway

WESTBURY, NY — A brush fire on the Northern State Parkway caused traffic delays this afternoon.

The fire started on the median near Exit 32 in Westbury, for Post Avenue. The left and center lanes of the eastbound parkway were closed while firefighters dealt with the blaze.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.

With Long Island under drought conditions, dry ground is much more likely to start burning.
