Woman Who Died After Massapequa Crash Identified: Police
The crash took place at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, police say.
MASSAPEQUA, NY. — The woman who died after being struck by a Hyundai while crossing Merrick Road Wednesday morning has been identified, police reported Wednesday afternoon.
Nassau County police said 41-year-old Massapequa resident Svetlana Durandina was struck while crossing Merrick Road at the intersection with Bayview Avenue early Wednesday morning, suffering severe body trauma as a result of the crash and being declared dead after arriving at the hospital.
The 27-year-old driver of the car that hit Durandina stayed at the scene, police said, and no arrests or charges related to the crash were reported Wednesday.
