CCE Announces 2013 Fall Master Gardener Class

The program will begin in early September.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County (CCE) recently announced it's new Master Gardener Training Program at East Meadow Farm and Horticulture Center for the fall.

The goal of the program is to educate home gardeners in practical, environmentally friendly horticulture methods and to train them to be multipliers of information to the public.

Four Thursday field trips will be scheduled during the program and a 150 hour volunteer commitment is required over a two-year period after successful completion of the formal training.

Classes will begin Tuesday, Sept. 10 and end in late November. They will be held every Tuesday from 9:00am to 3:30pm

CCE is an educational subordinate governmental agency association that provides research-based information and educational programs for communities. The organization, which was established in 1914, is committed to building healthy lifestyles and healthy communities by conducting educational programs that connect Cornell University resources to Nassau County.
